Once upon a time, there was a little boy who had a very bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time the boy lost his temper, he had to hammer a nail into the fence.
The boy hammered 37 nails into the fence on the first day.
Over the next few weeks, the boy gradually learned to control his temper, and the number of nails he hammered into the fence decreased. He discovered that controlling his temper was easier than hammering those nails into the fence.
Finally, the day arrived when the boy did not lose his composure. He told his father the news, and his father suggested that the boy pull out a nail every day to keep his temper in check.
After a few days, the young boy was finally able to inform his father that all of the nails had been removed. The father grabbed his son's hand and led him to the fence.
‘You did well, my son, but take a look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never look the same again. When you say things out of rage, they leave scars like this one. A knife can be inserted into a man and drawn out. The wound will not heal no matter how many times you say I'm sorry.
